The Skoda company published a teaser image of its first serial electric car based on the Citigar Citigo. The official premiere of the novelty will be held on May 23 in Bratislava. It is expected that the range of the electric car will exceed 300 kilometers. The rest of the details about the car are kept secret.

According to the head of the company, Bernhard Meier, Skoda serial electric cars will differ in design from the usual models of the Czech brand. According to him, "green" models will receive a special LED strip, which will combine the headlights and divide the grille into two parts.

Next year, the Czechs will present their first serial crossover with an electric power plant. The car will be created on the basis of the prototype Vision iV, which was shown at the last Geneva Motor Show. The novelty will be built on the modular platform MEB of the Volkswagen concern, designed specifically for cars with all-electric power plants.

Also in the near future, Skoda will present special home charging stations for its electric cars. A small device will be mounted in the garage or near the parking lot of the car. The development of these devices is carried out in conjunction with Volkswagen. The Germans have previously shown similar charging stations called Volks-Wallbox.

In total, Skoda plans to present over 30 new models by the end of 2022. Of these, 10 will have a hybrid or all-electric powerplant.
