What is new in comparison with Model S in the "national" electric car? Contrary to the latent expectation, Model 3 has more differences than similarities. This was manifested both in the design of all the main parts and elements, and in the little things like buttons for opening doors, a new key, door handles and even a salon rear-view mirror. For example, Model 3 has a completely new electric motor and it works in a different way than in S-ke.
The new electric car received a brushless permanent magnet motor. The transition to a new electric motor was made in order to reduce the cost of production and increase its efficiency. But in terms of speed and dynamic characteristics, the new electric car is not so different from the older model: the Long Range version of model 3 accelerates to 100 km / h in 5.1 s and can reach a maximum speed of 225 km / h.

Exterior
Tesla Model 3 is attractive not only for its price on the most affordable version. The novelty, due to many unusual technical solutions and design findings, can be said to challenge the car market. And even if it is especially noticeable inside the electric car, the exterior of the car also makes you pay attention to yourself.
The absence of a radiator grille is especially notable, which is impossible in principle with a car with an internal combustion engine. And even though Model 3 has a radiator that is connected to the battery cooling system, it does not require such a strong airflow, and therefore the usual grille was simply not needed. Interestingly, if the Model S had at least a narrow decorative slot under the hood, then the Model 3 is just plain plastic with a surprisingly sharp edge that defines the unusual shape of the front bumper.
This design has practical application, the result of the tremendous work of Tesla engineers to make the drag coefficient as low as possible and now Model 3 is one of the most aerodynamically efficient production cars in the world - Cx = 0.23.
Hidden door handles are another interesting innovation. The same mechanism of handles was used on the Aston Martin Vantage supercar. When pressed on one edge of the handle, the opposite one extends - on the principle of a swing and, if you pull the handle slightly towards you, the door will open.
There are only two ways to open an electric car: using the application on a smartphone or using a chip card that needs to be attached to a central rack. Even in the basic version, Model 3 is equipped with the entire range of Tesla autopilot equipment.
Interior

Getting into the car, the first thing that is shocking is the lack of a dashboard in front of the driver, after which you already notice the absence of the usual air ducts of the system, the next surprise is the lack of physical buttons on the front panel.
All that is available from the controls is a steering wheel with two joystick wheels, under the steering switches, buttons on the door handle and most importantly - a large 15-inch, touch screen in the center of the panel. It is assumed that the main interaction with the electric car will be through it, except for the steering wheel, which by the way does not have heating even in the most premium configuration. A glove compartment that does not have a handle or even a button in front of the front passenger. In order to open it for the first time it will be necessary to climb a little in the tabs on the car screen, although according to the reviews of the owners you quickly get used to it.
The central console between the driver and the passenger is surprised by the presence of a large space for storing various trifles - a large box under the armrest, a deep “hold” under the display of the on-board system, and where without a special shelf for smartphones it is now an obligatory attribute. It has two openings for power cables that can be connected to two USB sockets.
You will not find air conditioning grilles either, instead of them there is a long slot on the front panel through which air flows. You can control the direction of flow using the touch screen again and even divide into 2 (for the driver and passenger)
Rear passengers will be very comfortable due to the sufficiently large distance to the front seats of the flat floor, as well as the presence of a folding central armrest with two cup holders. In addition, there are two USB ports so that passengers can use Tesla as a giant power bank.
