The car is almost the same as the versions with traditional internal combustion engines. The electric motor is hidden under the hood along with power electronics. A 184-horsepower engine drives the front wheels through a single-stage gearbox. The 32.6 kWh lithium-ion battery is T-shaped and integrated into the central tunnel, which kept the trunk volume unchanged.

The electric car is equipped with an energy recovery system that slows down the car when the gas pedal is released. Unlike the BMW i3, from which the powerplant is borrowed, the MINI has a function for selecting the recovery rate.

Acceleration from 0-100 km / h takes 7.3 seconds, the maximum speed of the electric MINI is limited to 150 km / h. The novelty supports charging with alternating and direct current using the Type 2 and CCS Combo 2 connectors. A 11 kW station will allow you to charge the battery by 80% in 2.5 hours, and the battery will be fully filled in 3.5 hours. A more powerful 50 kW terminal will charge the battery by 80% in 35 minutes.

The MINI electric car is distinguished by the yellow MINI Electric logos on the body, yellow or gray rear-view mirrors and overlays on the fake grille. A special feature of the car was the wheels of an unusual asymmetric design.

Already in the basic configuration, the Cooper SE is equipped with LED headlights and a digital instrument panel, and the standard navigation displays the location of the charging stations.
