16 March 2019

n the 25th James Bond film with the working title Shatterhand, the secret agent of British intelligence will move on an electric car. As before, it will be Aston Martin, namely the first battery model of the brand - the Rapide E liftback.

According to film director Cary Fukunagi, his team works directly with Aston Martin to prepare the car for filming in time. He has big plans for the electric car, as in the Rapide E scenario he will be in the "center of incredible events."

The Rapide E is equipped with two electric motors that spin the rear wheels. Their total power is 610 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. A battery with a capacity of 65 kilowatt-hours allows the liftback to pass without recharging up to 322 kilometers (WLTP), and its recharge from the 100-kilowatt terminal takes 40 minutes. To accelerate to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) Rapide E spends less than four seconds. Maximum speed - 250 kilometers per hour.

The first deliveries of commercial images of electric liftback will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

In the latest Bond movie - 007: Spectrum - the movie character moved to the Aston Martin DB10. This conceptual coupe was designed specifically for filming a franchise and was built in an amount of 10 copies. In 2016, one of the cars was sold at auction for 2.4 million pounds.
