KIA NIRO EV - First after Tesla Model X
08 May 2018

At the moment, many people want to purchase an electric crossover, but unfortunately they do not have much choice but to buy a Tesla model X. At best, you can buy the desired electric vehicle only by pre-order, we'll immediately make it clear that we do not consider those crossovers that can only be bought in the Chinese market.

Kia wanted to become the second automaker that will begin mass selling its crossovers for this, it already introduced NIRO EV at the 5th International Electric Vehicle Show in Jeju, Korea.

Let's consider its technical characteristics. It will be presented in two versions: with a battery of 39.2 kW which is supposed to travel 240 km on one charge, as well as for longer trips to 64 kW, which corresponds to 380 km on one charge. The electric car has dimensions of 3775 mm in length, 1805 mm in width, 1560 mm in height and 2,700 mm in the size of the wheelbase.

The car was made with quite a lot of modern technologies, for example, Smart Cruise Control (SCC), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Back Collision Warning (BCW), Highway Driving Assistance (HWA), Frontal Collision Avoidance Assistance (FCA) and Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA).

On the Korean market, the crossover will be released in the second half of this year, and the markets of Europe and America will receive a brand new electric crossover immediately after.

Unfortunately, we do not know anything about the price yet, but there is an assumption that the KIA NIRO EV will be the most affordable for this class of electric vehicles.
