The New BYD Tang L: Perfection in Style and Power in Every Detail
The BYD Tang L is a harmonious blend of modern design solutions and elements of Chinese culture. The front of the vehicle is adorned with a striking 3D chrome element called "Dragon Whiskers," which visually widens the body and gives the car an energetic and expressive appearance. The rear lights draw inspiration from the elegant wings of the Phoenix and traditional bamboo weaving techniques, emphasizing the model's individuality and sophistication. Completing the design are the porcelain paint finish and D-pillars resembling brushstrokes, adding aesthetic harmony to the car.
The BYD Tang L SUV impresses with its dimensions: length — 5040 mm, width — 1996 mm, height — 1760 mm, and a wheelbase of 2950 mm. The new Tang L is 170 mm longer, 46 mm wider, and 35 mm taller than the previous model, offering even more space for passengers and enhanced comfort.
The cabin is designed to accommodate seven passengers in a 2+3+2 layout. The first row offers up to 1520 mm of shoulder space, while the second row provides up to 1512 mm, ensuring comfort even on long journeys. The trunk holds 675 liters with the third-row seats up, 960 liters with them folded, and an impressive 1960 liters with the second row folded down — 440 liters more than the previous model, making the Tang L an ideal vehicle for family trips or an active lifestyle.
The BYD Tang L is available in both fully electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The electric model delivers up to 810 kW (1086 hp) in a 4WD configuration with dual electric motors: 580 kW on the rear axle and 230 kW on the front. In terms of power, the Tang L is second only to the Koenigsegg Gemera hypercar, with electric motors capable of reaching an astonishing 30,000 rpm. This is an impressive achievement by BYD's engineering team, which consists of 110,000 specialists.
The interior of the BYD Tang L features an elegant two-tone palette with accents in orange and matte gray. A 15.6-inch central screen supports AR-HUD technology, expanding the driver's control over vehicle information. The instrument cluster is located behind a stylish D-shaped steering wheel and is seamlessly integrated with concealed air vents, creating a minimalist and tidy design.
The central console is designed as an arch with a hollow lower section, while some physical buttons are retained for ease of use. The 2x3x2 seating arrangement ensures passenger comfort and practicality.
The prices for the BYD Tang L will be announced in March, with mass production scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
