Description

HiPhi Z is an innovative electric vehicle produced by Human Horizons, a company dedicated to developing advanced electric vehicles. The company is headquartered in Shanghai and made its debut in the electric car market with the release of HiPhi X on July 31, 2019.

HiPhi Z, introduced in the summer of 2022, quickly gained recognition among modern transport enthusiasts and design fans. Its characteristic feature is its breathtaking use of light, which makes it stand out from other cars. The Z model is equipped with matrix headlights that project navigation cues directly onto the road. Not only are these headlights practical, but they can also display a variety of symbols, including playful emojis. In addition, light panels built into the doors serve the dual purpose of indicating battery level and greeting passengers.

The HiPhi Z is slightly larger in size and format than the Zeekr 001, 6 cm longer and 11 cm lower. The sedan is 5036mm long, 2018mm wide and 1439mm high, with a longer wheelbase of 3150mm compared to the Zeekr 001's 3005mm. Standard 22-inch wheels improve its looks. The body combines steel and aluminum, and the double glass doors open framelessly.

The front suspension is equipped with double wishbones, and the rear is multi-link. Air suspension comes as standard, with a high level of sophistication that surpasses typical "basic" settings. Interestingly, HiPhi Z offers an optional rear steering system, with actuators capable of turning the rear wheels up to 13.2 degrees, better than the Mercedes S-Class's 10 degrees.

The HiPhi Z is an all-wheel drive car that runs on two electric motors, one on each axle, each of which develops 336 horsepower, for a total of 672 horsepower. Its battery has a capacity of 120 kWh and promises a range of 705 kilometers according to the CLTC cycle. The top speed of this electric car is a respectable 200 km/h, and acceleration to 100 km/h is achieved in just 3.8 seconds.

Inside the top-level version of the HiPhi Z, all seats are captain's chair-style, although the rear seats are not equipped with adjustments. However, all seats have heating and ventilation functions. According to Chinese tradition, the steering wheel is not equipped with a heating function.

The central instrument panel has a large display that rotates 90 degrees, similar to the design seen on BYD vehicles. Instead of the usual dashboard, there is a large projection screen.

Most of the buttons in the cabin are touch-sensitive, including buttons on the steering wheel and window control panels. This may take some getting used to for those used to tactile buttons.

Instead of a rear window, the electric car has a gracefully curved transparent roof that would otherwise block rearward visibility. Instead of the usual rear mirror, there is a display that shows the image from the rear camera.

In addition to the fascinating rear lights, there is another notable feature - a retractable spoiler. However, to maintain its impressive appearance, it is important to prevent the formation of ice on the car.

The manufacturer hints at the possibility of rear-wheel drive configurations and other simplifications in the future. However, such versions will not be true HiPhi Z models, but rather analogues of other generic models on the market. At the moment, HiPhi Z is an extraordinary and unique electric vehicle.
