HiPhi is a premium electric vehicle brand under Human Horizons, an innovative Chinese technology and mobility company headquartered in Shanghai. The goal of Human Horizons and HiPhi is to redefine the future of mobility by focusing on a comprehensive "3-Smart" strategy: smart car, smart transportation and smart city. HiPhi X, the company's first production model, is a full-size electric crossover that went on sale in China in October 2020 with customer deliveries starting in May 2021. Subsequently, following the success of the HiPhi X, a second production model was introduced, the HiPhi Z, a 5-door luxury GT based on the same platform as the HiPhi X. The HiPhi X was shown first in preliminary form in November 2021, with a production version was presented in August 2022 at an exhibition in Chengdu. Deliveries to customers began in early 2023 after the first production vehicles rolled off the assembly line in December 2022.
In April 2023, HiPhi introduced its third production model, the HiPhi Y, a mid-size electric SUV with special gullwing doors over the rear (regular) rear doors. Two versions are available with 76.6kWh and 115kWh battery capacities, full specifications and pricing have yet to be revealed. Due to its compact dimensions - although it is still quite long, measuring 4938 mm long and 1958 mm wide - HiPhi Y is expected to be the top seller in both the domestic Chinese market and in HiPhi's plans to export to Europe and other international markets.
Human Horizons and HiPhi are headquartered in Qingdao, China, with software development and research and development centers in Chengdu, China, and Tokyo, Japan. During the Shanghai International Auto Show 2023, Human Horizons announced the establishment of operations centers in Munich, Germany, and Oslo, Norway, as part of its entry into the European market. HiPhi X has already successfully passed homologation tests in Germany, indicating their intention to further expand in North America.

In the early stages of its development, Human Horizons introduced several concepts

Human Horizons demonstrated its commitment to a "3-Smart" strategy with the 2019 Smart Road demo in Yangcheng, China. It has integrated road sensors, in-vehicle control, cloud computing, and 5G data transmission to test level 3-5 autonomous vehicles.
