The initial impression of the updated Zeekr 001 New (Restyling) might evoke comparisons with its predecessor, but upon closer inspection, significant improvements become evident. The exterior has undergone considerable modification to align with the powerful four-motor Zeekr 001 FR, previously released. The changes include the installation of more aggressive bumpers, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, and a new aerodynamic rear spoiler, collectively creating a more dynamic and expressive look. A new body color, Olive Green, has also been introduced, highlighting a refined design approach. The dimensions of the Zeekr 001 New (Restyling) remain impressive: 4977 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1545 mm in height, with a 3005 mm wheelbase, ensuring substantial interior space and stable road performance.
The interior of the Zeekr 001 New (Restyling) has been significantly upgraded compared to the previous version, emphasizing both the sporty and premium character of the vehicle. Elements borrowed from the Zeekr 001 FR, such as updated instrument panels and a steering wheel, add a touch of exclusivity. The interior color schemes and material textures have also been redesigned, creating a more refined and pleasing environment. Other innovative features include a new seat vibration system for enhanced tactile comfort, a 15.6-inch rotatable display, and a 35.5-inch heads-up display with augmented reality support, greatly expanding interaction possibilities on the road. The intelligent features and performance are powered by the Snapdragon 8295 chip, enhancing the overall experience of the car’s digital systems.
The Zeekr 001 New (Restyling) is built on an 800-volt platform, significantly increasing charging capabilities and optimizing energy consumption. The V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) technology, with a peak power of 60 kW, allows not only charging but also powering other electric vehicles through standard DC charging stations. The use of a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery combined with 5C charging support allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 11.5 minutes. Alternatively, a triple-pack with nickel-cobalt-manganese (NMC) cells can achieve a similar charge level in 15 minutes using a 4C charging system. Notably, the vehicle can add 256 km of range in just 5 minutes, significantly reducing downtime and making it highly efficient for an active lifestyle.
The Zeekr 001 New (Restyling) powertrain has also undergone substantial changes aimed at improving performance and efficiency. A permanent magnet electric motor with 310 kW (416 hp) is installed on the rear axle, similar to the motor used in the Zeekr 001 FR. The all-wheel-drive version features an asynchronous motor on the front axle with a power of 270 kW (362 hp), which improves efficiency at low speeds, especially in urban traffic conditions. This approach optimizes energy consumption and ensures smooth handling. The acceleration to 100 km/h takes only 3.3 seconds, making it faster than key competitors like the Nio ET7, which accelerates to the same speed in 3.9 seconds.
